The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center has been teaching timeless, classical yoga, at its present Chicago location on West Bryn Mawr Avenue since 1972.  It is part of a larger worldwide organization, the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres,  founded by Swami Vishnudevananda, a renowned authority on Yoga.  Swami Vishnudevananda was sent from India to the West by his Guru, Swami Sivananda, to spread the ideals of Yoga and Vedanta with the words: “people are waiting.”
