Edgewater Demographic Information

Edgewater was originally developed as a summer destination. In the late 1880’s it was annexed by the City of Chicago. Edgewater has a rich history of welcoming people from around the globe to the neighborhood. In 2000, 36% of its population was foreign born, by 2010 approximately 31% of the population was foreign born.
