Edgewater’s First Pet Mayor

Yes, you read that right! Pax the Goat was inaugurated as Edgewater’s first pet mayor at EdgeFest on Sunday, August 4, 2019.  Six candidates campaigned over the summer of 2019 and raised almost $20,000 for the Care For Real Pet Food Pantry.

In his first act as mayor, Pax the Goat named his cabinet.

Commissioner of Pups and Recreation: Ballew the Dog
Commissioner of Paw Services: Wrigley the Dog
Commissioner of Puplic Works: Winston the Dog

EdgeFest & Pet Parade

The Edgewater Chamber’s summer festival, EdgeFest, has embraced the community’s pro-pet attitude and since 2017 has held an annual Pet Parade during its weekend to cheer on our two-legged and four-legged residents. Everyone is welcome to participate in scheduled activities throughout the two-day event.
