Edgewater Monday Market
We are bringing back a farmers market with a new day and time! The Edgewater Monday Market will run on Mondays this June from 3 to 7 p.m. The market will provide the finest quality meats, fruits & vegetables, fresh pastries, and a tasty selection of prepared foods at the Broadway Armory Parking Lot (5917 N Broadway).
The new market showcases 16 local vendors, including Urban Canopy, Parra Farms, Cake Ecstacy, and Blaque Millennium Farms. It will also bring Global Garden Farms to Edgewater. Global Garden Farms supports refugee families by giving them the opportunity to grow vegetables for urban distribution in a transformed vacant lot in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood.
The Chamber’s bold move to Mondays was clear, to create less overlap in the crowded community market space and also capture a commuter audience on their way home from work or as they make their way to the beach. Encouraging attendees to round out their shopping at surrounding local businesses. A trip to the market could ensure daily errands are complete at the start of the week.
Bringing the market back is an exciting moment in the community’s reopening, as we begin to slowly emerge from the shadow of COVID-19 but it is also being done in a safe and secure way. Vendors’ tables will be properly spaced, and queues will be clearly designated. All COVID-19 safety precautions will be closely monitored and followed by all at this event.
