Edgewater Night Out

Edgewater Night Out offers free programming on Fridays in July and August from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Bring your friends and neighbors and experience everything Edgewater has to offer!

14 July: Li’l Buds Theatre Company at Edge Theatre 5:30-7:30 pm

First 50 kids get a treat provided by Maddiebird Bakery!

21 July: Storytown Improv at Growling Rabbit 5:30-7:30 pm

First 50 kids get a treat provided by Growling Rabbit!

28 July: Piviot Arts at Ras Dashen and Mas Alla del Sol 5:30-7:30 pm

First 50 kids get a treat provided by Ras Dashen or Mas Alla del Sol

4 August: Ram Art Studio at Edge of Sweetness Bakery 5:30-7:30 pm

First 50 people get to paint a garden gnome FREE! First 50 kids get a treat provided by Edge of Sweetness Bakery!

11 August: Pivot Arts at Vedge Water- Peterson Garden Project 5:30-7:30 pm

18 August: Chicago Mosic School and AVP Jewelry at Uncommon Ground 5:30-7:30 pm

7 July: High Ridge YMCA 

14 July: AVP Jewelry and Beads: AVP will have two free of charge projects, or “Make and Takes”
Fantasy bracelet – you will design a bracelet, string it, and attach a clasp by using crimp beads.
Drop Earrings – you will string beads and use crimp beads to dangle your earrings from ear wires.
For both projects: Limit one per person.  Beginners welcome!  For ages 5 and up.

21 July: CircEsteem will have a short performance followed by a workshop on tight wire walking, juggling, and plate spinning!

28 July: Storytown Improv

4 August: Pivot Arts presents live music night! Thomas Comerford brings his unique mix of indie/classic rock to Edgewater. Hailed by the USA Today as: “… worth celebrating, particularly if you’re a fan of lyrically savvy troubadours like Tom Waits and Jeff Tweedy.”

11 August: Chicago Filmmakers: Join Chicago Filmmakers for an outdoor screening of family-friendly films by Chicago-area filmmakers. Films include ALL GHOST WOMEN PLAY THE THEREMIN (Jerzy Rose, 2009, 13 min., USA), FANFARE for MARCHING BAND (Danièle Wilmouth, 2012, 16 min., USA), MAE’S JOURNAL (Amir George, 2013, 12 min., USA), IT DOESN’T MATTER (Lori Felker, 2012, 12 min., USA), and selected episodes of MCTUCKY FRIED HIGH (Robert Carnilius, 2015, various, USA).

30-July- Storytown – interactive improv musical | create a story with the actors.  Help design the set and shape the story while actors, artists, and musicians bring it to life

6-Aug- Mad Science – fire and ice science show | enjoy the fresh air while you interact with science media

13-Aug- Laura Doherty and the Heartbeats | tap your toes and dance along to this acoustic folk-pop music great for kids and families

20-Aug- Animalquest – Exotic Animals | visit the real live exotic animals and explore through the displays of these unusual species that cohabit the earth

27-Aug- Go Edgewater – Bike Rodeo | experience learning bicycle safety in a fun way
